MENSWEAR PRODUCT DEVELOPER/ TECHNOLOGIST

PREMIUM ONLINE MENSWEAR/SPORT/ STREETWEAR BRAND

CENTRAL MANCHESTER (full time head office based role)

UP TO £40K doe

Our client, a premium menswear brand experiencing phenomenal global growth, is looking to expand their creative team with an experienced Product Developer. The ideal candidate will have a background in online menswear/ sportswear brands and experience in garment construction, tech packs, fits, samples, and all aspects of product development.

THE ROLE

  • Collaborate with Head of Menswear on new fabric, trim and logo developments.
  • Expertly create Tech Packs and BOMs with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Attend fit sessions and proto reviews.
  • Manage the execution of styles from concept to launch.
  • Contribute to design direction meetings, bringing new ideas.
  • Follow the critical path to execute a balanced and commercial range plan.
  • Ensure all timelines are met, including tech packs and sample deadlines.
  • Bring to market fit-for-purpose products built to brand standards.
  • Handle daily design and development tasks aligned with company vision.
  • Plan and organize workload independently.
  • Ensure high standards for tech packs for accurate factory translation.
  • Coordinate communication with suppliers.
  • Obtain initial prices and update sample tracker.
  • Attend fabric trade fairs and visit key stores and brands.
  • Interact with factories and fabric mills, including site visits or video meetings.
  • Inspect health and safety aspects during factory visits.
  • Prioritize sustainable fabrics, trims, and packaging where possible.
  • Assess factories regularly and provide feedback.
  • Ensure supply base compliance and transparency.
  • Provide creative and technical skills for fit-for-purpose garments.
  • Work with Creative Director, Chief Product Officer, and Head of Menswear to deliver quality products within margin targets.
  • Identify styles for wear testing and coordinate accordingly.
  • Maintain and update sample tracker reports accurately.

EXPERIENCE

  • 2-3 years of design and product development experience.
  • Passion for menswear, sportswear, and premium branded markets.
  • Relevant degree in menswear design.
  • Experience traveling to factories and style capitals.
  • Excellent garment construction knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
