We are looking for a Product Developer to join us at Sculpd to help develop the next range of innovative products to enable people to get back in touch with their crafty side.

You will be responsible for driving the development of products from concept through to release, obsessing over customer experience, and ensuring the products make commercial sense.

You will be full of fresh ideas, bring creative energy, and collaborate with various teams to deliver high-quality products.

In 2020, we set out to reinvent pottery, making it more accessible and affordable for everyone, moving beyond its traditional confines.

We built the brand around the idea that everyone is crafty in their own way, inspiring people to create and connect through their craft.

Since our launch, we've built an audience of over 1 million on social media and serve more than half a million happy customers globally. We are expanding from pottery into other crafts, aiming to integrate modern crafts into daily life.

The role and how you’ll be working

  • As the Product Development Manager at Sculpd, you will shape the product's direction and contribute to business success by disrupting the craft industry.
  • You’ll lead the development and execution of new products from concept to launch.
  • Understand upcoming trends and consumer insights to guide the product development roadmap.
  • Develop product roadmaps aligned with brand strategy, business goals, and consumer demands, managing a pipeline of innovations and improvements.
  • Delve into customer experiences and incorporate findings into product development.
  • Present ideas for innovative products, considering customer experience, costs, margins, and business strategy.
  • Collaborate with the design team to bring concepts to life.
  • Manage all aspects of product development, including artwork proofing, content accuracy, imagery, barcodes, and batch codes.
  • Ensure compliance by identifying testing and labeling requirements.
  • Work with manufacturing partners to source materials, ingredients, and packaging.
  • Ensure products meet financial targets while considering design and manufacturing costs.
  • Project manage from concept to release, ensuring milestones are met and stakeholders are aligned.

Description of the candidate we’re looking for

  • A passionate creative with a love for business and product quality.
  • Obsessed with understanding and improving the customer experience.
  • A self-starter capable of owning projects to completion.
  • 3+ years in a similar product development role, preferably in a fast-growth direct-to-consumer business.
  • High commercial awareness combined with creative flair.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain concepts to diverse teams and partners.
  • Experience managing multiple suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize effectively.

About the role

  • We operate a remote-first team with members worldwide.
  • This is a six-month contract role with potential extension.
