Part of Informa Group (listed on the London Stock Exchange and a member of the FTSE 100), it has been advancing research and enriching lives since 1798. Its purpose is to foster human progress through knowledge.### The roleProduct design at Taylor & Francis is a creative and strategic discipline that shapes platforms and user experiences. This role reports to the Head of Product Design and sits within a growing design function. You would own end-to-end design from problem discovery to production-ready solutions, bringing product thinking to design and design thinking to product. You would also help shape how design operates across the organisation, contributing to shared standards and a culture of continuous improvement.### What you would do* Engage directly with customers and users through qualitative research, behavioural data analysis and direct contact to understand user needs and bring a designer's perspective to problem shaping.* Partner with the design and research team to plan research activities and translate findings into actionable design opportunities.* Contribute to problem framing and opportunity definition alongside Product Managers, using journey maps, service blueprints and experience principles.* Lead the design process end-to-end: from early sketches and conceptual exploration through wireframes, interaction design, prototyping and high-fidelity production-ready designs.* Explore multiple design directions for significant problems, using creative exploration and evidence to inform decisions.* Design thoughtful interactions that account for feedback, states, transitions, error handling, accessibility and edge cases.* Plan and conduct lightweight research activities (usability testing, concept evaluation, exploratory interviews) as a natural part of your design process.* Collaborate with UX Researchers on more complex studies, contributing to research questions, synthesis and translation of findings into design decisions.* Work with Engineering from early in the design process, involving technical colleagues in problem exploration and solution development.* Partner with Product Managers to shape what gets built, contributing to roadmap discussions, trade-offs and definitions of success.* Contribute to the design system, helping create consistent, accessible and reusable experiences across products.* Share expertise through constructive critique, mentoring and collaborative problem-solving, and advocate for the value of evidence-led design.### What they are looking for* Strong experience in product design or UX design, with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of complex digital product experiences.* A portfolio that shows both design thinking and craft: how you approached problems, explored alternatives and arrived at solutions.* Strong interaction and visual design skills, with attention to usability, accessibility, consistency and detail.* Genuine product instinct, with the confidence to contribute to problem definition, prioritisation and strategic product discussions.* Practical experience conducting user research and translating findings into design decisions.* Proficiency in Figma and experience contributing to or maintaining design systems.* Experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary product teams, particularly alongside Product Managers and Engineers.* Comfort interpreting behavioural analytics and customer data to inform design decisions.* Strong communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to explain and defend design decisions constructively.* An interest in helping establish and improve design practices within a growing team.### Working arrangementsThis role is based in the UK and requires the right to work and live in the UK. The working model is hybrid: you would be expected to work in-person (in the office, or with customers and partners) three days a week or more. Candidates should live within commutable distance of the Milton Park office (Abingdon) or the Bengaluru office. The Milton Park office is due to relocate to Oxford city centre in late 2027 or early 2028.### Pay and benefits* Competitive salary plus bonus* 25 days annual leave, plus 3 additional discretionary days at the end of the year* 4 volunteering days annually* Day off for your birthday* Company-funded single-cover private medical insurance* Employee assistance programme (24/7 wellbeing support)* Share Match plan (every share purchased matched with two free shares)* Pension scheme* Life assurance, plus optical and medical care
