Job summary

Manthorpe Building Products, part of the Genuit Group, is seeking a Product Designer to join our Product Development team in the UK. You will be involved throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from identifying opportunities and creating concepts to testing, manufacturing, and launch.

You will research market trends, develop design briefs, create CAD concepts, select materials, and produce technical drawings and documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Engineering Design, or related discipline.
• Experience using Creo Parametric (Pro Engineer) and 3D CAD software.
• Strong understanding of engineering and product development principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and cross-department collaboration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Adobe Creative Suite experience is advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proactive approach and interest in innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Research market trends, industry developments, and customer requirements to identify opportunities for new products and improvements.
• Create design briefs and technical specifications to support development projects.
• Produce concept designs using sketching, CAD, and rapid prototyping.
• Develop concepts into commercially viable products selecting materials and manufacturing processes.
• Create and maintain technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Test and evaluate prototypes and finished products for compliance and performance.
• Produce technical literature, installation guides, and supporting documentation.
• Provide technical support and product expertise across the business.
• Support manufacturing improvement initiatives through analysis and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with production, quality, supply chain, and commercial teams to ensure delivery.
