Personio is seeking a Senior Product Designer to define the future of our HR platform and lead initiatives across product design. You will own the functional strategy for your area and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality work that responds to customer needs.

The role combines hands‑on design work with evolving the design practice, including AI‑enabled workflows, and will require collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive impact.

This role requires 2 days per week in the office and is based in Munich, Berlin or London.

As a Senior Product Designer, you will help to define the future of Personio’s HR platform and lead key initiatives to evolve the product and our product design practice. You will own the functional strategy for your product area and coordinate with stakeholders across disciplines and levels to ensure the team is delivering high quality work which responds pragmatically to customer needs.

Alongside developing high quality product experiences, you will help evolve the design practice at Personio. Technical advances are enabling new tools and methods in the design process, and Personio is committed to exploring and integrating the latest possibilities.

This role is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about leveraging the latest technology and working with cross functional partners to solve customer needs.

What You'll Do

• Manage entire work-streams, providing product direction through goal-setting and planning
• Develop thoughtful and inclusive design strategies. Balance ambitious, insight-driven goals with practical constraints
• Work at the leading edge of AI enabled workflows and bring new approaches to the design process
• Create high fidelity deliverables (including hand-coded or AI-assisted prototypes) that articulate and inform product vision
• Identify emerging design patterns and create reusable and extensible abstractions and frameworks, connecting disparate projects to avoid or reconcile avoidable divergence
• Demonstrated commitment to uplifting the design through culture of excellence and empathetic support, mentoring designers and cross-functional peers and providing constructive critique and feedback

What You Need To Succeed

• Experience and passion for one or more dimensions of design, e.g., Product thinking, Interaction Design and Crafted execution
• Skilled in using high-fidelity and AI powered prototyping tools
• Experience in extending or creating reusable frameworks, tooling, rituals, playbooks, patterns or processes adopted by others that improve how teams work
• Demonstrated ability to lead a product area in partnership with the cross functional team
• Capable of elevating craft, proactively identifying and driving initiatives and raising quality across the product area
• Proven track record of shipping high‑impact, multi-release product outcomes
• Operates with autonomy, accountability, and mature decision-making thriving in ambiguity and can bring clarity to complex or undefined spaces
• AI Fluency: You have hands-on experience using AI to improve your workflow, and the sound judgment to know exactly when to rely on it and when to step in yourself.
