Job summary

News UK is seeking a Product Designer - Data & Applied AI in London to lead the visual language for internal AI tools and newsroom analytics. You will own a unified Data & AI UI Kit in Figma and drive tokens, patterns and components across teams, working closely with engineering to ship production-ready interfaces.

The role requires strong Figma expertise, a proven track record with design systems, and a passion for AI-native workflows inside a fast-paced media environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced mastery of Figma and prototyping capabilities.
• Experience creating, documenting and scaling reusable UI component libraries.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating high visual craftsmanship and intuitive UI.
• Clear communication and collaboration with design engineers.
• Passion for AI-native design tools and emerging data-visualization workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design high-fidelity UI and interaction patterns for core internal tools.
• Build and maintain a Data & AI UI Kit in Figma with tokens and components.
• Collaborate with Product Design Engineer to translate components into production code.
• Lead usability testing and gather feedback from journalists and stakeholders.
• Create rapid concepts and prototypes to secure stakeholder alignment.
