Job summary

Solas IT Recruitment is seeking a mid-level Product Designer to join a growing consumer technology business. You will shape customer experiences across web and mobile, working four days onsite in Shoreditch with one day remote.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing and Data, contributing from discovery through to production-ready interfaces. A strong portfolio and hands-on Figma experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' Product Design experience in consumer-facing digital products.
• Experience in ecommerce, D2C or similar consumer environments.
• Portfolio showing visual/UI design with UX and product thinking.
• Experience designing customer journeys (onboarding, checkout, subscriptions, accounts).
• Strong hands-on Figma experience, including high-fidelity UI and prototyping.
• Experience with design systems and component libraries.
• Understanding of user research, analytics or experimentation.
• Awareness of how design influences conversion, engagement and retention.
• Strong communication, able to explain design decisions and take ownership in fast-moving environments.
• Able to work onsite in Shoreditch four days per week.

Working Pattern: 4 Days Onsite / 1 Day Working from Home

My client is looking for a Product Designer to join a growing consumer technology business, helping to create engaging customer experiences across web and mobile.

This is a highly collaborative role requiring four days per week onsite in Shoreditch. Applicants must be able to commit to this working pattern on an ongoing basis.

This opportunity would suit a mid-level Product Designer with experience in ecommerce, D2C or consumer-facing digital products who combines strong visual design skills with a good understanding of UX and commercial product design.

You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing and Data, contributing throughout the design process from discovery and research through to polished, production-ready experiences.

The Role

You’ll work on customer-facing journeys, with projects likely to include:

• Designing and improving acquisition, onboarding and customer engagement journeys.
• Improving ecommerce checkout, account management and subscription experiences.
• Supporting customer retention, loyalty and repeat-purchase initiatives.
• Creating polished, high-fidelity interfaces across web and mobile.
• Contributing to user research, usability testing and competitor analysis.
• Using customer behaviour, analytics and experimentation to inform design decisions.
• Working with an established design system and creating reusable components and UI patterns.
• Collaborating closely with Product Managers and Engineers throughout design and delivery.
• Ensuring designs are practical, scalable and implemented to a high visual standard.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years' Product Design experience, ideally working on consumer-facing digital products.
• Experience within ecommerce, D2C or a comparable consumer product environment.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating visual/UI design alongside UX and product thinking.
• Experience designing customer journeys such as onboarding, checkout, subscriptions, account management, loyalty or retention.
• Strong hands-on experience with Figma, including high-fidelity UI and prototyping.
• Experience working with design systems and component libraries.
• An understanding of user research, behavioural insights, analytics or experimentation.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of how design can influence conversion, engagement and retention.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain design decisions clearly.Comfortable taking ownership of assigned projects and working in a fast-moving environment.
• Able to work onsite in Shoreditch four days per week.

Tools & Technical Experience

• Strong Figma and prototyping skills.
• Design systems, component libraries and reusable UI patterns.
• Usability testing and customer research.
• Behavioural analytics, A/B testing or experimentation.
• Responsive and accessible design.
• Experience collaborating closely with Engineering teams.
• Exposure to AI-assisted design or prototyping tools such as Claude, Figma AI or similar would be beneficial.

Experience in one or more of the following would be valuable:

• Ecommerce or D2C businesses.
