Job description

About Sano

Mission; what we do

  • accelerating the world’s transition to personalised medicine

Purpose; why we do it

  • to speed up development of life-saving treatments for those with limited options

Vision; where we’re going

  • become the world’s best source of patient-in-the-loop genomic and health data for precision medicine development

As a Product Designer at Sano, you’ll help design how individuals experience our genetic testing journey and access life-changing diagnostics and interventions.

You’ll be joining a team where design is a strategic driver, not an afterthought. This is a fantastic match if you enjoy owning end-to-end design work, leading discovery in ambiguous areas, and communicating clearly to bring others with you.

You’ll report to our Lead Product Manager and collaborate closely with our Lead Product Designer. You’ll also be part of a cross-functional product team and a wider design community where we share feedback, raise the bar together, and support each other to do our best work.

Headlines:
  • Role - Product Designer
  • Salary - up to £75k
  • Location -Remote, UK only
What you'll be doing:
  • Designing and owning key features within our genetic testing and participant flows
  • Leading UX/UI work across the full product lifecycle - from discovery to delivery
  • Shaping problem spaces, prioritise design efforts, and validate assumptions in close partnership with PM.
  • Sharing early concepts, specs, and feedback loops as part of collaborating closely with engineers.
  • Turning insights from user research and internal data into clear design decisions
  • Contributing to our shared design system and tooling for speed and consistency
  • Communicating design rationale through Notion, async walkthroughs, or quick prototypes
  • Helping your squad stay unblocked by being proactive, responsive, and solutions-oriented
This job is for you if you have:
  • Designed intuitive, elegant digital products - especially B2B or B2C platforms
  • Strong product thinking and the ability to simplify complex journeys
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Ability to lead and own projects end-to-end; taking responsibility from discovery through high-fidelity handoff
  • Fluency in Figma and confidence using tools like Notion or Miro to collaborate
  • A systems-thinking mindset that connects UX to broader business goals
  • Experience working across the product lifecycle, from discovery to delivery
  • A collaborative style that values early input from engineers and PMs
  • A habit of clearly documenting your work and sharing progress with your team
  • Experience designing in fast paced, scaling SaaS environment
Even better if you have:
  • Experience in health tech, genetics, diagnostics, or clinical research tools
  • Comfort interpreting and designing around complex user data
  • Contributions to a shared design system in a fast-scaling environment
This role is unlikely to be a great match if:
  • You prefer working with highly defined requirements over exploring ambiguity
  • You find frequent user research or iterative design cycles frustrating
  • You want to focus on a very specific part of product design, instead of developing a breadth of product design skills
  • You avoid early engagement with engineers and key stakeholders or struggle with async ways of working
  • Your portfolio doesn’t show strong visual craft and clear UX thinking

Research shows that some people are less likely to apply for a role unless they are 100% qualified. Your experience, skills and passion will set you apart so tell us about your achievements, irrespective of whether they are personal or work-related, tell us about your journey, and about what you learnt.

So, if this role excites you, don't let our role description hold you back, get applying!
