Job description

Job Title: Product Designer

As a Product Designer, you'll be at the forefront of transforming how care is delivered through intuitive, empowering digital tools. You'll help shape the future of our mCare and eMAR products—key solutions that support care professionals with mobile care planning and electronic medication administration. In this pivotal role, you’ll operate at the intersection of empathy, innovation, and design excellence, crafting user experiences that are not only functional and efficient but genuinely supportive of the people delivering and receiving care. We're looking for someone who is passionate about improving lives through design and eager to contribute to software that makes a real-world difference in care environments every day.

What You'll Do:
  1. Lead end-to-end design initiatives, from discovery through to delivery, applying a user-centred approach to solve complex problems in care documentation and planning.
  2. Conduct immersive research in care environments to build deep empathy with care professionals and identify opportunities for meaningful innovation.
  3. Design inclusive and accessible interfaces that cater to diverse users, ensuring our Products are usable regardless of technical ability, experience level, or access needs.
  4. Collaborate strategically with product, engineering, clinical specialists, and business stakeholders to align design decisions with user needs and business objectives.
  5. Contribute to and maintain a cohesive design system, establishing patterns that enable efficient delivery of consistent, high-quality experiences.
  6. Influence product strategy through evidence-based design thinking and a deep understanding of user needs.
  7. Create high-fidelity prototypes and design specifications to effectively communicate design concepts and solutions.
  8. Facilitate collaborative design sessions and workshops to build shared understanding and drive consensus around complex challenges.
What You'll Bring:
  1. Substantial UX/UI design experience, especially in healthcare or complex, high-risk domains where user error has significant consequences.
  2. A strong portfolio demonstrating your design process, problem-solving approach, and impact, particularly in simplifying complex workflows and creating intuitive interfaces.
  3. Deep research expertise, including planning and conducting user research, synthesising findings, and translating insights into design decisions.
  4. Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, capable of creating concepts, prototypes, and specifications.
  5. Experience designing for diverse users with varying levels of digital literacy, ensuring intuitive experiences for all.
  6. Excellent communication skills to articulate design decisions clearly to stakeholders.
  7. Collaborative mindset with experience working in agile, cross-functional teams.
  8. Background in service design, considering the end-to-end user experience.
  9. Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
What We Offer:
  1. A salary of £45,000 - £55,000 plus bonus depending on experience.
  2. Modern offices in Guildford with flexible remote working options.
  3. 25 days holiday.
  4. Net zero pension scheme.
  5. Additional perks like cycle-to-work scheme, staff discounts, and Employee Assistance Programme.
