Job summary

Fyxer, a London-based AI-powered productivity platform, is seeking a Lead Product Designer. You will be the sole designer reporting to the Head of Product, shaping product decisions with a human-behaviour lens and collaborating with engineers.

You will lead interaction design for complex flows, dashboards, and AI-generated drafts, ensuring calm, intuitive experiences across touchpoints. This is a senior, early-hire design role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing in high-growth, early-stage environments where structure was built by you.
• Able to talk with engineers about constraints beyond handing over a Figma file.
• You run your own user research and use findings to defend or adjust design decisions.
• You move quickly and leverage AI tools to unblock and ship MVPs when needed.
• Nice to have: experience making design changes in the codebase.

What you're walking into

We're not starting from zero. We have a creative designer on the team, a visual identity built with Red Antler, a design system, and a product that real users depend on every day.

What we don't have is a senior product design voice. Someone who gets the first call across the company when a product, experience or communication decision needs a human-behaviour lens on it.

That's this role. You'll report to our Head of Product and work as the sole designer, an early design hire, alongside our engineers. You'll be the most senior product design hire we've made, with real influence over what gets built and over how this company thinks about the people it builds for.

If you think understanding people is the hardest and most important part of design, and that everything else follows from that, this is the role for you.

What you'll be working on

Fyxer is an AI-powered productivity platform. You'll design interfaces where the AI does real work: raising something people missed, live transcription, deeply personalised drafts, complex cross-surface workflows. They need to feel effortless despite genuine complexity underneath.

A large part of this role is interaction design. We're building products with real complexity under the hood, and we care about making those experiences feel calm, intuitive and coherent across every touchpoint, such as:

• A dashboard experience that makes AI feel like a natural daily habit

• A real-time notetaker that generates live transcripts and captures the right context

• Personalised AI draft generation that adapts to each user's communication style

Who you are

• You have 5+ years designing in high-growth, early-stage environments where structure was something you built, not something you inherited.

• You understand technical constraints well enough to have a real conversation with an engineer, not just hand over a Figma file.

• You run your own user research. You talk to users, watch session recordings, and use what you find to defend or change your design decisions.

• You move fast and use AI tools to help you. You know when to be rigorous and when to unblock someone with an MVP.

Nice to have: experience making design changes in the codebase.
