Job description

Our OEM Client based in Gaydon is searching for a Product Design Engineer (Cabin Components) to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a 12-month contract position initially until 31st March 2026, with the potential for further extensions.

Umbrella Pay Rate: £33.64 per hour.

The purpose of this role is to design, develop, validate, and introduce cabin components into vehicle programmes. Cabin component commodities are predominantly 'Make to Print', enabling full responsibility of the development process to be managed.

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Have a good understanding of the full product development life cycle.
  • Manage the component delivery plan to meet quality, cost, and time objectives.
  • Lead on the technical content and integrity of specific components and systems across designated programmes.
Skills Required
  • Previous experience managing resolution of business, technical, and process issues.
  • Understanding and experience in the new product development life cycle.
  • Proficiency with problem-solving tools and techniques.
  • Understanding of digital, CAD, CAE, and related tools to develop component system geometry.
  • Skilled in key software applications such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience within an engineering discipline.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Working knowledge of the Agile process is a plus.
