Overview

ROLE: Product Design Engineer
TERM: Permanent
LOCATION: Macclesfield
SALARY: GBP 30,000 - GBP 40,000, dependent on experience

My client designs and installs a range of bespoke solutions around the Retail industry. They are looking for a Design Engineer to join their team in Macclesfield on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
• Liaising with manufacturing providers
• Participating in final assembly of products
• Creating the required design documentation as well as project reports/plans
• Updating 3D models and drawings
• Inputting parts into the MRP system and creating BOMs
• Checking drawings for sign-off
• Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects

Qualifications and Requirements

• Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position
• Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks)
• Knowledge of a variety of materials
• Solid understanding of core mechanical engineering principles and tight tolerances
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to work well independently as well as in a small multidisciplinary team
