The Role and the Team

We’re looking for an experienced Product Data Scientist to join our Data team during an exciting growth phase. You will help shape our processes as we evolve. As a Product Data Scientist, you’ll collaborate with teams across Blue Light Card, providing analytical insights to support decision-making. Your goal will be to ensure teams understand member and partner behavior deeply, using the latest techniques to generate actionable insights.

What You’ll Do
  • Use quantitative analysis and data storytelling to uncover user behavior, identify pain points, and inform product strategy with actionable insights.
  • Identify new opportunities by generating hypotheses, designing experiments, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Define and align key metrics with stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy by partnering with engineers and developers.
  • Build and maintain self-serve data tools and dashboards for quick access to insights, enabling data-informed decisions.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to support strategic initiatives, delivering clear recommendations for improvements.
  • Document reports, insights, and metric definitions in the Insights Hub to promote transparency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and address data or capability gaps, sharing insights and fostering relationships.
  • Champion a unified data approach, ensuring consistent use of data sources and definitions, and stay updated on analytics best practices.
What You’ll Bring
  • Extensive experience with data analysis in a digital/tech environment.
  • Proficiency with tools such as SQL, dbt, Python, R, and BI tools like Lightdash, Looker, or Tableau.
  • Ability to translate business problems into analytical tasks and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in data storytelling, presentation skills, and convincing data-led arguments.
  • Desire to develop professionally alongside the senior analytics team, with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
  • A collaborative spirit and individual capability.
