Job summary

SRT Marine Systems plc is seeking a Product Cybersecurity Engineer to embed security into our product development lifecycle. Based in Bristol with occasional travel to Cardiff and Bath, the role combines hands-on security work with collaboration across software teams.

You will review designs and code, perform threat modelling, and help shape secure delivery practices while growing into security leadership within our product security capability.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with the ability to read code and discuss designs with developers.
• Experience or specialist in application security in a software-led environment.
• Practical experience applying security across the SDLC (threat modelling, secure coding, testing, vulnerability management).
• Good understanding of how product teams operate and balance security with delivery.
• Ability to translate security concerns into actionable decisions that developers respect.

Responsibilities

• Champion security within product development teams and influence design and backlog decisions.
• Embed secure development practices across the software lifecycle including CI/CD and secure coding standards.
• Carry out threat modelling, secure design reviews and risk assessments for new and existing capabilities.
• Assign risk levels and support prioritisation of remediation with features.
• Support vulnerability remediation and root-cause analysis, and track third-party components for security.
