Broadsheet Media is Australia’s leading culture publisher and award-winning media brand. With our ambitious expansion into the UK market with the launch of Broadsheet London, we aim to bring our distinctive voice to one of the world’s most dynamic cultural capitals.

This role is a rare opportunity to shape the direction of the social video direction of a trusted and influential media brand, creating an enduring impact on how Londoners engage with their city's vibrant culture.

We connect millions of viewers and readers each month with the best of their cities and communities - from food and fashion, to the arts, theatre, music and travel.

We are seeking a talented, driven, and culturally connected Producer - Social Video to lead our social video output and establish Broadsheet as the UK’s most significant culture media brand.

About the Role

The Producer - Social Video will play a pivotal role in the success of Broadsheet London. As one of our first hires in the London market, you will help to set the tone and direction of our video output, driving the growth of our social video audience in the UK.

Social video is core to how audiences engage with media brands today. Broadsheet must be distinctive here—our content must be unique, insightful, and useful, while being narratively and visually compelling. We tell stories that no one else can and we need a producer who shares our vision and can drive it forward.

This role spans all aspects of video production, from ideation and pre-production through to post-production, and final delivery. But you can also pick up a camera and shoot something compelling. You’ll be both a creative force and a hands-on maker—directing, shooting, and editing to bring stories to life in the leanest, most effective way possible.

The content might be filmed fast with limited equipment and no crew, or might be an ambitious production, working with freelance crew on a multi-day shoot. The challenge is to provide our audience with a breadth of formats all while monitoring key metrics to shape and deliver an ongoing slate our audience keeps coming back for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the creation of high-quality, engaging social video content that aligns with Broadsheet’s editorial vision.
  • Work across all stages of production: ideation, scripting, shooting, directing, editing, and post-production.
  • Building and developing a Broadsheet production network including freelance directors and editors.
  • Identify and leverage emerging trends, challenges, and formats unique to each social platform.
  • Develop repeatable video formats that drive engagement, subscriptions, and followers.
  • Own on-set responsibilities including directing, shooting, monitoring sound, and managing talent.
  • Ensure engaging visual elements including graphics, thumbnails and overlays.
  • Work collaboratively with editorial, commercial and creative teams to execute branded content and sponsorship campaigns.

Who You Are

You're a creatively led video producer who combines a strong editorial instinct with hands-on production skills. You're as comfortable behind the camera as you are working with a crew, and you know when each approach is right for the story and the format. You understand the power of storytelling to connect with an audience. You’re resourceful, collaborative and thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can be both scrappy and strategic.

Key Attributes

  • Social media expertise: A deep understanding of social media video trends, algorithms, and best practices.
  • Storyteller: You know how to craft stories that resonate with audiences across platforms, using narrative, tone, and pacing to create emotional and cultural connection.
  • Technical: Proficiency in video production tools and software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar).
  • Project management: Able to independently manage multiple shoots, timelines and stakeholders, balancing creativity with efficiency.
  • Organisation: Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Cultural insight: A passion for London's world of food, fashion, culture, travel, and design.

About Broadsheet

With the launch of Broadsheet London we expand our ambition to one of the world’s most dynamic cultural capitals.

Our people value open-mindedness, honest communication and collaboration and are driven, embrace creativity and contribute broadly across the organisation. Devoted to excellence, they aim for industry-leading work while maintaining a sense of enjoyment and perspective. A flexible and agile team member, they eagerly confront new challenges, learn from experiences, and provide innovative solutions with resilience and quick thinking.

How to Apply

We take pride in our acceptance of the unusual and we are deliberate and reflective about our culture and seek those we believe embrace an empathetic, caring and supportive environment. Diversity comes in many forms, and we know that having many points of view, experiences and ideas are key to us being a successful organisation.
