Producer/Director

Overview

We’re seeking a highly experienced Producer/Director with a proven track record of creatively leading high-profile, glossy, streamer-level investigative documentaries.

Key Skills and Experience
  1. Visual creativity and strong self-shooting skills, with a keen eye for detail and composition.
  2. Ability to bring fresh ideas, approaches, and to direct powerful, emotionally charged interviews.
  3. Experience in shaping complex narratives into compelling, cinematic stories.
  4. Proficiency in managing hour-long documentaries and box sets through all stages from scripting to structure.
  5. Outstanding editorial judgment, access, negotiation skills, and understanding of compliance, legal frameworks, and editorial policy.
  6. Experience working on stories under active police investigation with meticulous research and fact-checking.
  7. Positive, empathetic, and persuasive team player capable of managing sensitive contributors and securing access to key people and locations.
  8. Experience with secret filming and understanding the visual and tonal perspectives relevant to a youth-skewing audience.
  9. International working experience, including directing shoots abroad.
  10. Confidence, calmness under pressure, and ability to navigate complex editorial challenges.
Location & Working Style

Our office is based in Birmingham. We support regional talent and operate on a hybrid basis. Applicants should be willing to work from our Birmingham office a few days per week.
