Salary: £25 - £27.50 per hour + Inside IR35 rate to Umbrella

Start Date: Immediate start within 2 weeks

Digital News Video Producer

6 month + contract

Location: London City – 3 days in the office per week, 2 days WFH. Ideally early shift 7-3 or 8-4, but flexible.

Inside IR35: £27.49/h to Umbrella

The Digital News Producer is responsible for pitching and producing video content that resonates with digital audiences. Responsibilities include pitching stories, gathering editorial information, conducting pre-production interviews, scripting, and editing videos in-house.

The team produces video news content for digital platforms and social media (using Sprout). Candidates should have news experience involving research, interviews, scripting, and editing (strong skills in Adobe Premiere Pro/Adobe Premiere are required).

Applicants must have worked in a similar producer role within a news media outlet (preferably global, national, or local, but not marketing or PR). A journalism degree is required; candidates with a background in politics and strong news production experience may also be considered. Ideally, candidates will have 3+ years of experience, but at least 1 year as a producer in a news environment.

The ideal candidate is a video-first storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced news setting. They should be accurate, fair, collaborative, flexible, and capable of handling both hard news and lighter stories seamlessly. Editorial judgment, creativity, and a passion for engaging digital audiences are essential. This is a freelance position.
