Job Description:

Islam Channel is looking for a talented and experienced Producer who is passionate about creating and sharing interesting and inspirational high-quality content for a Muslim audience in the UK and around the world. The genres include:

  • Religious (must have a strong knowledge of Islam)
  • Lifestyle
  • Factual and Documentaries
  • News and Current Affairs

You will be responsible for producing television content from concept to completion. You will join a creatively minded production team, responsible for creating high-quality content across all of the channel's platforms. Responsibilities include generating ideas, researching, editorial planning, and leading production. You should be able to work autonomously, organize, lead, inspire the crew, and mentor junior producers. This role is suited for results-driven individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments.

Role responsibilities:
  1. Develop and produce high-quality, creative original content, programmes, series, and podcasts across platforms from concept to completion.
  2. Ensure projects align with the company's vision, budget, resources, and timelines.
  3. Plan and execute development phases, including research, creating and pitching treatments, scripting, and coordinating with guests and presenters.
  4. Manage pre-production, lead meetings, and brief teams and crew.
  5. Manage your department team, including training volunteers, interns, and researchers.
  6. Organize shoots, liaise with the Studio Manager, and plan filming logistics.
  7. Collaborate with your line manager on programming strategy.
  8. Adhere to Ofcom guidelines and editorial policies.
  9. Oversee shoots on location or in studio, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality standards.
  10. Manage health and safety, including Covid-19 regulations and risk assessments.
  11. Handle administrative tasks such as invoices and expense claims.
  12. Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.
About you:
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant broadcast television experience with a proven track record.
  • Understanding of Islam and Islam Channel values.
  • Passion for sharing religious content in an engaging way.
  • Experience with complex productions involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and project planning skills.
  • Ability to work within budgets and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad.
Advantageous experience:
  • Ability to edit and film.
  • Knowledge of Studio MCR operations (vision mix, sound).
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Ability to film using DSLR cameras.
  • On-camera presenting skills.
