About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Procurement Team for 37 hours per week. The Procurement team provides support and enables services across the council to ensure that contracts and arrangements provide value for money, achieve corporate and commissioning objectives, and deliver social value.

Reporting to the Category Manager (Corporate), you will assist in procurement practices across various areas such as ICT, HR, and Consultancy, working across all categories within our team of Corporate, Place, and People.

The role requires attention to detail, initiative, interpersonal skills, data analysis, and ICT skills including Microsoft packages and purchasing systems like Unit 4 ERP, e-tendering portals, and databases. You will work closely with service leads, guiding them through procurement processes, supporting administration of expenditure panels and procurement boards, and handling various administrative tasks such as statutory reporting, agenda and minute preparation, and FOI requests.

  • Procurement experience or working towards CIPS level 4 is advantageous
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
