Job Description:

Purpose of the Job: To manage and execute the tender process for Masdar’s 3GWh+ BESS pipeline, ensuring detailed cost/benefit analysis of key suppliers. To optimise procurement processes, analyse supply chain data, and identify strategic sourcing opportunities. To support all aspects of procurement in collaboration with the Contracts Manager, Delivery team, Finance, external stakeholders, and consultants to oversee the pre-tender and construction phase of BESS projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers of battery energy storage components and materials.
• Develop sourcing strategies with cross-functional teams to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure favorable terms.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contracts and quality standards.
• Lead the RfP tender process for battery energy storage projects, including document preparation and evaluation.
• Evaluate proposals and select vendors based on technical and cost criteria.
• Support contract negotiations, aligning terms with project goals.

Data and Market Analysis

• Utilize procurement data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Present insights using data visualization tools.
• Understand BESS technology developments and raw material cost trends.
• Identify and mitigate procurement risks.
• Streamline procurement processes and monitor performance metrics.

Qualifications

Preferred Experience:

• 4-6 years' experience in supply chain management, market research, or energy sector, with BESS experience preferred.
• Strong procurement knowledge, including sourcing, evaluation, and negotiation.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of procurement regulations in the energy sector.
