Job summary

UKSBS, part of the UK civil service framework, seeks a Procurement Specialist to lead tender processes across multiple locations (Swindon, Newport, Stockton-on-Tees). The role focuses on compliant procurement, lifecycle management, and collaboration with internal partners to maximise value.

Candidates will bring hands-on experience with eProcurement platforms and a proven ability to drive best practices while supporting strategic procurement initiatives.

• Independently prepare pre-tender and tender documents and manage full procurement lifecycle.
• Support the Procurement Manager with ad-hoc and strategic activities.
• Support implementing best practices into procurement operations and service transformation.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensure procurements adhere to Government regulations regarding the advertising and publishing of opportunities.
• Ensure that the defined best practice procurement processes and policies are followed to deliver maximum use of e-Procurement Systems and processes
• Develop close co-operative relationships with internal partners to leverage their expertise, understand local market conditions, support their specific aims and objectives, and deliver value adding services and agreements
• Independently prepare pre-tender and tender documents, following this through the full procurement sourcing life cycle
• Support the Procurement Manager with any ad-hoc and strategic activities
• Support driving the implementation of best practices into Procurement operations and service transformation

To do this role well you will need to demonstrate the following:

• Proven track record in preparing and managing tenders and contracts with precision and efficiency, ensuring smooth procurement processes from start to finish.
• Hands-on experience using eProcurement tools and purchasing platforms to streamline sourcing activities and enhance procurement outcomes.
• Valuable experience supporting Procurement Managers (or similar roles) by driving best practice procurement, ensuring strict adherence to processes and policies, and maximising opportunities for savings.
