Job summary

UK SBS Ltd is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our team in Swindon, Newport, or Stockton-on-Tees. The role focuses on managing tender processes and ensuring compliance with government procurement regulations while leveraging e-procurement systems to maximise value and efficiency.

Successful candidates will support the Procurement Manager, drive best practices, and contribute to service transformation across multiple platforms and partner organisations.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience using eProcurement tools and purchasing platforms to streamline sourcing activities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure procurements adhere to Government regulations regarding the advertising and publishing of opportunities.
  • Develop close co-operative relationships with internal partners to leverage their expertise and deliver value adding services.
  • Independently prepare pre-tender and tender documents, following this through the full procurement sourcing life cycle.
  • Support the Procurement Manager with any ad-hoc and strategic activities.
  • Support driving the implementation of best practices into Procurement operations and service transformation.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure procurements adhere to Government regulations regarding the advertising and publishing of opportunities.

  • Develop close co-operative relationships with internal partners to leverage their expertise, understand local market conditions, support their specific aims and objectives, and deliver value adding services and agreements
  • Independently prepare pre-tender and tender documents, following this through the full procurement sourcing life cycle
  • Support the Procurement Manager with any ad-hoc and strategic activities
  • Support driving the implementation of best practices into Procurement operations and service transformation

To do this role well you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Proven track record in preparing and managing tenders and contracts with precision and efficiency, ensuring smooth procurement processes from start to finish.
  • Hands-on experience using eProcurement tools and purchasing platforms to streamline sourcing activities and enhance procurement outcomes.
  • Valuable experience supporting Procurement Managers (or similar roles) by driving best practice procurement, ensuring strict adherence to processes and policies, and maximising opportunities for savings.

Artificial Intelligence:

Successful candidates may be required to undergo Security Clearance (National Security Vetting) as part of their employment. To meet these standards, applicants must normally have lived in the UK for at least the last five years and be able to satisfy background, identity and criminal record checks.
