Job description

Summary:

Day Rate - 800 - 1200 a day (Outside IR35)

I am looking for an experienced consultant to lead a critical procurement project for my client, focusing on the end-to-end process of Request for Proposals (RFP), contract negotiations, pricing, and managing large contracts with key milestones and service-level agreements (SLAs). The successful candidate will work in close partnership with internal legal teams and business leaders, driving the project forward under tight timelines as well as decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with Tier 1 suppliers (e.g., PwC, Deloitte, Accenture) as well as Tier 2 suppliers (both onshore and offshore).
  • Provide procurement expertise to drive business outcomes and influence decisions at a senior leadership level.
  • Lead and manage the full procurement lifecycle, from collecting requirements and developing RFPs to negotiating contracts and pricing.
  • Manage large-scale contracts for both front office and back-office services, ensuring key milestones, SLAs, and other performance metrics are met.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams across the business to align procurement strategy with organisational objectives and ensure timely decision-making.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong track record of working with Tier 1 (PwC, Deloitte, Accenture) and Tier 2 consultancy suppliers (including offshore vendors).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including experience working with C-suite executives and influencing business decisions.
  • Proven experience in leading large, complex procurement projects, with a focus on professional services (consulting, IT services).
  • Experience in negotiating Statements of Work (SoWs) and managing contracts with multi-million-pound spend. (Useful but not a must have)
  • Solid understanding of managing key procurement functions such as RFPs, contract management, pricing, SLAs, and vendor performance.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight deadlines.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in managing procurement for both front and back office services.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within an immature procurement environment and lead successful transformation efforts.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiations and contract optimisation.

Why Apply?

  • Be part of a major transformation, driving procurement excellence at a critical time for a global leader in their industry.
  • Work with a diverse and dynamic team, delivering impactful change across the organisation.
