Job summary

Cummins is seeking an enthusiastic Procurement Placement Student to join our team in Huddersfield for the CBS/Corporate purchasing function. You will gain hands-on experience within a major global organization, learning how we operate and contributing to PO management, cost reduction, and supplier collaboration.

The placement is available to candidates eligible for a placement year and starts in the Summer of 2027, offering exposure to cross-functional teams, data analysis, and project work

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree in supply chain, engineering, business or finance.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with IT and Microsoft tools.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated support to one or more Sourcing & Continuity teams within the office.
• Working with suppliers on Purchase Order management, cost reduction, capacity planning, quality performance and risk mitigation.
• Specific project work to support functional objectives.
• Collaborating with other Business Units in the region to share processes, tools and resources.
• Data analysis to support Purchasing KPIs and project requirements.
• Engagement with Supplier Quality, Material Planning, Finance and Engineering.

During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry.

This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence Summer of 2027.

External Qualifications and Competencies

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
