Position: Procurement Officer (Fixed Term)

Pertemps is partnering with a Public Sector service to recruit a Procurement Officer for an 18-month fixed-term contract.

The Procurement Officer will support the delivery of procurement, purchasing, and commercial strategies. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with procurement procedures, manage risks, and maximize benefits from contractual arrangements with third-party providers. A strong understanding of public sector procurement, particularly within IT, is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in delivering procurement, purchasing, and commercial strategies.
  2. Advise managers to ensure compliance with operational procurement and commercial procedures.
  3. Support development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
  4. Maintain partnership and contract registers to maximize commercial benefits.
  5. Support contract management to ensure benefits are maximized and risks mitigated.
  6. Analyze framework agreements and collaboration arrangements, highlighting benefits and issues.
  7. Ensure adherence to Contract Standing Orders in all procurement activities.
  8. Assist the Commercial Services team and contribute to a professional service.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience in public sector procurement, especially within IT.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices.
  • Experience in contract management and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Professional procurement qualifications (e.g., CIPS).
  • Experience with procurement and contract management software.
