Procurement Officer

Stockport

c.£35,000

Permanent Role

We are working on an exclusive basis with a client in the Stockport area to appoint an experienced procurement professional who will be responsible for the tendering and contract management of a broad range of goods and services across various commodity areas.

You will be responsible for managing procurement projects, guiding stakeholders through the procurement process, implementing contracts, identifying savings, and tracking supplier performance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Providing procurement advice internally and managing procurement projects.
  2. Supporting stakeholders in tender processes and procurement requirements.
  3. Coordinating tender processes, writing tender documents, and managing contracts.
  4. Developing and updating procurement systems and controls.
  5. Monitoring and managing supplier performance and contract compliance.
  6. Providing reports and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience in a procurement or purchasing role.
  2. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; SAP knowledge is advantageous.
  3. Experience in structured procurement processes; public sector procurement experience is a plus.
  4. Experience in preparing tenders, contracts from templates, and managing supply contracts.
  5. Ability to deliver service improvements and cost savings.
  6. Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  7. Experience in monitoring and recording supplier performance and KPIs.
