Job summary

SSE is seeking a Procurement Officer to join the Procurement Operations Team in Glasgow. You will manage procurement from demand through to contract award, with approximately 50% of your time spent in Glasgow.

You will conduct sourcing events using Jaggaer Sourcing to Contract, contribute to drafting and negotiating contracts, and maintain audit-ready records. CIPS accreditation or progress toward it is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering commercial value through sourcing activities and supplier negotiations.
• Experience managing tender processes smoothly and efficiently.
• Strong communication and problem-solving with organizational and prioritisation skills.
• Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.
• CIPS accreditation preferred, or working towards accreditation.

Base Location: You’ll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in Glasgow.

Salary: £45,452 – £54,311 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

As a Procurement Officer, you will be part of the Procurement Operations Team who are responsible for the delivery of tactical sourcing and contract administration. You will be in the unique position of facing off to procurement colleagues in the wider team, internal business customers and external suppliers.

• Undertake procurement of goods, works, and services to support all Business Units, from initial demand through to contract award aiming for reduced contract costs.
• Conduct sourcing events using the Jaggaer Sourcing to Contract System aligned with Category Sourcing Strategies and procurement policies.
• Contribute to the drafting, reviewing, and negotiating of contracts.
• Ensure stakeholder engagement with a strong understanding of procurement systems and supply chain processes.

You have

For success in this role, we are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in delivering commercial value through a range of sourcing activities and supplier negotiations.
• Able to manage tender processes smoothly and efficiently.
• Capable of clear communication and problem-solving, with strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Experienced in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.
• Professionally accredited by CIPS (preferred), or working towards accreditation.
