Functional area: Procurement

As Project Procurement Manager UK for RWE OPEA’s growing Wind & PV and BESS pipeline within our OPEA Procurement team, you will be responsible to support & implement the supplier country strategy for the UK market embedded into the global strategy.

In your role as Project Procurement Manager, you act as Procurement Single Point of Contact for the Onshore Wind, Solar & BESS projects, partnering with the overall Project Manager. You will oversee all procured packages – TSA, SMA, EPC, and/or BoP contracts – during development and construction, and lead supply chain optimization throughout the project lifecycle.

Your future responsibilities include:

• Negotiating large and complex project contracts (including TSA, SMA, EPC, and/or BoP contracts) for PV, BESS & Wind projects in multidisciplinary and international teams
• Developing, implementing, and managing purchasing strategies for these contracts
• Supporting and executing the supplier country strategy for the UK market
• Optimizing tendering processes in collaboration with project stakeholders
• Developing and implementing framework agreements
• Managing active supplier relationships for PV & Wind Balance of Plant contracts
• Stakeholder management with development, construction, and service departments
• Interface management with Global Category Procurement and support functions like Finance, Risk, and Legal
• Assessing suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants, including audits and complaints management
• Identifying new, alternative vendors
• Providing cost estimates for new photovoltaic plants and grid interconnection works
• Preparing decision templates with risk mitigation and cost-benefit analysis

Your profile:

• Several years of relevant experience in the PV & Wind industry, preferably within Europe or the UK
• Experience managing large, complex tenders for PV & Wind EPC contracts or similar projects (Capex/Opex)
• Strong stakeholder relationship skills
• Experience assessing contractual risks and developing mitigation strategies
• Educational background in engineering or business economics; legal qualifications are a plus
• Ability to negotiate contracts, manage stakeholders, and lead teams
• Intercultural competence and international project experience
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Willingness to travel and stay abroad temporarily for project support
