Job description

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

About the role

SZC is owned by two shareholders, EDF and HMG, through NNB Holdings Company (SZC) Limited. The shareholders' investments will evolve over time.

The shareholders will fund SZC until Financial Close via equity, following the approved schedule and budget. SZC's core activities include designing, financing, constructing, commissioning, operating, maintaining, and decommissioning the Sizewell C nuclear power plant and related infrastructure in Suffolk. The current development phase focuses on executing the Capital Raise Plan, completing equity and debt raises, securing core supply chain contracts, and obtaining necessary permits and licenses for construction.

Previously, SZC operated under EDF's Nuclear Development business unit, staffed by EDF employees and contractors transitioning to direct employment. The organization aims to deliver a new nuclear power plant, from investment and funding to construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning.

The SZC construction program is based on replicating Hinkley Point C's technical and commercial model. EDF remains a key nuclear capability provider for SZC within its UK footprint.

Key stakeholders include: UK Government, relevant departments and agencies (Treasury, BEIS), EDF, financial investors, regulators, partners, and local communities.

  6. Managing procurement of subcontractors, materials, plant, and services in line with strategy and commitments.
  7. Ensuring ethical procurement and compliance with legislation and nuclear regulations.
  8. Developing the project supplier database, including market assessments and performance tracking.
  9. Monitoring markets and proposing alternative strategies to optimize opportunities or reduce risks.
  10. Providing management reports and information.
  11. Managing supply chain performance throughout project lifecycle.
  12. Building effective relationships with suppliers and service providers for value delivery.
  13. Developing local, diverse, and SME engagement strategies, hosting events, and community advertising.
