Job description

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager on behalf of an Independent Power Producer to drive the commercial success of multi-million-pound renewable energy projects. This role will lead end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring cost-effective, high-quality delivery while aligning with our client’s ambitious sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all procurement activities, from strategic sourcing to contract execution, for renewable energy projects.

  • Negotiate high-value contracts and build robust supplier relationships to optimize costs and quality.

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to align procurement with project timelines and technical specifications.

  • Oversee procurement budgets, deliver accurate cost forecasts, and implement risk mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure procurement strategies support net-zero objectives and comply with industry regulations.

Person Specification:

  • 5+ years of procurement experience in energy, construction, or engineering sectors.

  • Strong track record in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite for cost analysis and reporting.

  • Passion for sustainability and excellent commercial acumen.

  • Familiarity with NEC or JCT contracts and MEP systems is advantageous but not essential.

  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
