PROCUREMENT MANAGER (Fixed-Term Contract)

TEAM

The Procurement Team manages a significant proportion of the total easyJet external spend and revenue, which amounts to over £3 billion per annum, covering Customer, Operations including Engineering and Maintenance, Fuel and Ground Handling, Commercial, Business, Corporate, Finance, People, and IT functions.

The easyJet Procurement Team manages a substantial share of the company's £1 billion external expenditures across various departments. As a Procurement Manager within the Operations Procurement team, your primary role revolves around services related to Ground Handling and Aircraft Appearance.

You will support a dynamic portfolio, creating an exciting Procurement Category Plan. This journey involves analyzing spend data, conducting market analysis, developing engaging strategies for stakeholder and supplier engagement, leading tender processes, and designing templates for contracts and new requirements. All these efforts aim to maximize value for easyJet.

Additionally, you will collaborate closely with colleagues, contributing to the driving force behind this category, providing unwavering procurement support, and playing a pivotal role in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to align strategic partners with easyJet's vision. This role is energised and purpose-driven, making you a key driver of our pursuit of excellence and innovation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and implement clear short, mid, and long-term strategies to drive value on the allocated category of spend
  • Influence a range of key internal stakeholders to support and buy into the chosen strategy
  • Build relationships across all levels with suppliers to leverage easyJet’s strategic importance, and negotiate charges that secure a competitive advantage
  • Identify appropriate sourcing through a balanced scorecard approach to meet easyJet’s requirements
  • Manage the tender process, negotiations, and subsequent contracting for service/product provision
  • Drive continuous improvement within the supply base and deliver a pipeline of value engineering projects to reduce easyJet spend
  • Monitor actual financial performance against plan, and investigate/explain variances appropriately
  • Work closely with the Business Area to agree on clear service specifications to meet business requirements
  • Support supplier relationship management policies to ensure consistent practices and develop supplier relationships

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Strong negotiator and influencer
  • Strategic thinker: ability to understand market dynamics & create innovative solutions/category plans
  • Keen Relationship Management: ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at various levels (including CEO)
  • Ability to understand complex specifications and contract scopes
  • Ability to analyze detailed financial and management information
  • Ability to review and markup contracts
  • Displays determination and drive, with a tenacity to deliver to the bottom line
  • The ability to influence and challenge at a senior management level
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • End-to-end robust competitive tender process capability
  • Ground Handling and/or Airline procurement experience is advantageous but not mandatory

LOCATION & HOURS OF WORK

This full-time role will be based in Luton (Hybrid/remote working options available) and will be 40 hours per week.
