Job description

Role Purpose:

Responsible for the commercial aspects and overall supplier performance for goods and services purchased from suppliers for their categories of spend, and continuously creating additional value for money for Greencore. Proactively engage with stakeholders across Greencore to encourage best practice and own the commercial aspects of projects involving suppliers.

Key Accountabilities:
  1. Create additional value for money for goods and services, balancing price, service, and quality to meet business needs through negotiations, supplier selection, and contracting.
  2. Build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide professional procurement expertise with a commercial focus.
  3. Challenge existing practices and introduce best procurement practices, acting as an ambassador for indirect procurement to influence business behaviors and culture.
  4. Take a strategic category view to manage spend areas, identify savings opportunities, and drive consistency across Greencore. This includes analyzing spend, consolidating the supply base where appropriate, sourcing from suitable suppliers, managing supplier performance, resolving issues, negotiating optimal terms, and managing contracts and service levels.
  5. Project manage initiatives to address business needs or create value, including stakeholder alignment, needs assessment, planning, tenders, negotiations, contracting, communication, implementation, and ongoing supplier management.
  6. Negotiate and implement contracts tailored to business requirements, including setting appropriate service levels and addressing risks and liabilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Degree-level qualification with indirect procurement experience.
  • Strong commercial insight and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, evaluate options, and implement recommendations.
  • Experience in contract assessment and adaptation to mitigate liabilities and meet business needs.
  • Ability to operate in a complex, multi-site environment and lead stakeholders to consensus.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Position: Permanent, Full-Time
