Job description

Role: Procurement Manager

Location: Leeds Area (Hybrid 3 Days in Office) with regular national travel

Contract: Permanent

Salary: c. £50,000 plus Car or allowance

Grafton Recruitment are working with a large market leading services and engineering business to appoint an experienced Procurement Manager to manage the direct and indirect procurement for the organisation regionally.

The role will take responsibility for overseeing the inventory profile and procurement of materials used by the organisation, as well as facilities spend, fleet, and general indirect procurement. You will lead a team of procurement and inventory professionals.

This role offers the opportunity of career development and progression and will also involve you in company wide transformation and implementation projects. You will need to take a hands-on approach towards supplier management, contracts and price negotiation, whilst developing and implementing team strategy.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading procurement activities within the region, identifying and delivering cost savings, sourcing suppliers and product, and negotiating and delivering contracts.
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders on projects and ensuring procurement process is followed.
  • Managing, developing, and coaching a team of procurement professionals.
  • Implementing structured procurement policy, process, and strategy and identifying areas of improvement.
  • Supplier management, creating and onboarding new suppliers, on-going relationship management, supplier rationalisation projects, and performance management.
  • Stock management, managing New Product Introduction and phasing out end of life products, optimising inventory levels.

Requirements:

  • Background in materials-based procurement and ideally experience of indirect procurement, including facilities, fleet, and corporate services.
  • Experience in managing teams of procurement professionals.
  • Experienced in sourcing and selecting suppliers, leading negotiation process, and implementing procurement contracts/frameworks.
  • Promoting professional procurement approach within an organisation.
  • Identifying cost saving opportunities and developing strategy to deliver savings.
  • Ensuring a varied and complex inventory portfolio is optimised.
