Location: Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters (HQ), Ripley, Derbyshire

Salary: GBP 45,718 - GBP 50,788 per annum

Hours: 37 hours, with occasional work beyond normal office hours. Agile working arrangements can be discussed.

Reports to: Head of Corporate Financial Services

Responsible For: Procurement Officers

About The Role

We seek a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to join our Corporate Procurement department. Your work will directly impact our ability to serve the public by ensuring our firefighters and staff have the necessary equipment, services, and resources. You will work closely with department heads and the Strategic Leadership Team to develop procurement strategies, secure value for money, and ensure compliance, supporting our vision to "Make Derbyshire Safer Together."

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the development and implementation of the Procurement Strategy.
  2. Ensure an efficient and effective strategic procurement service.
  3. Ensure compliance with UK procurement regulations and policies.
  4. Manage the Procurement team, including staff development.
  5. Advise on procurement routes, considering environmental and sustainability factors.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  1. Experience managing and leading a team to meet organizational goals.
  2. Knowledge of UK and international procurement legislation.
  3. Experience developing procurement strategies, policies, and procedures.
  4. Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  5. CIPS Level 5 Diploma in Procurement and Supply.
