Job summary

SF Recruitment is partnering with a Nottingham-based manufacturing business to recruit a Procurement Manager on a permanent, office-based basis. You will own the purchasing function, drive strategic sourcing, and lead a small team to secure reliable material supply and cost savings.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' procurement or supply chain experience in manufacturing.
• Proven experience negotiating supplier contracts and delivering measurable cost savings.
• Experience leading or mentoring a procurement team.
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management.
• Experience using SAP or other ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead strategic sourcing activities, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management.
• Deliver cost savings through supplier optimisation, commercial negotiations, and total cost of ownership initiatives.
• Ensure continuity of supply by managing supplier risk and developing resilient sourcing strategies.
• Work closely with Operations, Planning, Quality, Finance, and Commercial teams to support business performance.
• Oversee purchasing processes, procurement compliance, and ERP master data.
• Utilise SAP and procurement data to improve reporting, decision‑making, and operational efficiency.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and digital procurement initiatives.
• Support sustainability and responsible sourcing objectives across the supply chain.
• Lead, coach, and develop the procurement team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to take ownership of the purchasing function, driving strategic sourcing, supplier performance, and continuous improvement while leading a small team.

• Experience using SAP or other ERP/MRP systems, alongside advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
