Job description

A new and exciting Procurement Manager job opportunity based in Newcastle, with a growing global professional services company with a specialist procurement division.

The ideal candidate will have experience within property, construction, transport, rail, power, water, nuclear, and MOD/defence sectors.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with an accomplished team comprising specialist procurement personnel, consultants, and a wider team providing claims management, dispute resolution, and contract strategy services.

As a Procurement Manager, there will be opportunities to work with market-leading clients, providing full procurement services from start to finish, with potential travel both nationally and internationally to organize commissions.

Flexible remote working is supported, with the understanding that regular weekly visits to the office for meetings and tasks are required.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform the duties of a Procurement Manager and Contracts Consultant.
  • Manage procurement services on substantial construction-related projects from initiation to completion.
  • Provide specialist procurement strategy advice to private and public sector clients.
  • Support the growth of procurement services offered.
  • Assist with marketing and business development within the division.
  • Contribute to bid preparation, proposal documentation, and work-winning activities.
  • Support the achievement of team and broader business targets.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Extensive experience across the full procurement lifecycle, including tender preparation, development, and strategy formulation.
  • Experience with various contract types, especially NEC and JCT.
  • Contract development, drafting, negotiation, and award experience.
  • Knowledge of Public and Utilities Contract Regulations procurement.
  • Supply chain intelligence and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Experience using e-procurement software.
  • Project experience valued over £50m is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, adaptability, and ambition to succeed.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
  • BSc in Quantity Surveying, Law, Procurement, Civil Engineering, or related construction field preferred.
  • MCIPS qualification is desirable.
