Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking an experienced Procurement Management professional to lead subcontract and commercial delivery of complex Export EW programmes for the Integrated Mission Solutions sector, based in Luton.

The role is strategic and contract-focused, requiring management of contractual change, effective negotiation, and governance across an international supplier base to protect business interests throughout the programme lifecycle.

• Own the Procurement strategy and associated Procurement Plan including export EW Typhoon.
• Administer contracts through the full project lifecycle, including contractual change, payment milestones and programme management.
• Lead procurement aspects of Tendering, communicating risk and opportunities and handling change within contracts.
• Support contractual requirements and complex issues to meet customer governance expectations.
• Liaise with Commercial and intra-company teams to align procurement strategy with customer needs.
• Mobilise supplier agreements and change notes with strategic suppliers.
• Develop robust contracts for services and deliverables using standard and non-standard formats.
• Ensure compliance and governance for all procured items and services.

The salary range shown reflects the approved grade band for this role, or a narrower hiring range published within that band, and is benchmarked against the external market. Exceptions above the standard range are managed through governance controls to protect internal equity.

Your impact

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Management professional to join our Procurement & Commercial Team within the Electronic Warfare (EW) Line of Business. This role is strategic and contract-focused, responsible for leading the subcontract and commercial delivery of complex Export EW programmes for the Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) Sector.

The successful candidate will bring a strong background in managing Procurement/Programme-level contractual change, negotiating and administering complex agreements, and implementing effective subcontract management strategies to mitigate risk and protect business interests. Working across an international supply chain, you will be responsible for shaping and executing procurement strategies, influencing key business decisions, and providing clear contractual direction to internal stakeholders and suppliers alike. Success in this role will require relationship management skills, with the ability to build trusted, long-term partnerships across the supply chain, navigate complex commercial challenges, and ensure contractual obligations are effectively managed throughout the programme lifecycle. Candidates may come from a Commercial, Contracts, Subcontract Management or Procurement background, with experience in services, software, training, manpower or other non-tangible procurement experience being particularly relevant.

What you'll bring

• Own the Procurement strategy and associated Procurement Plan (Export - EW Typhoon) which must flex to consider all business capture options and include both legacy and future programmes.
• Execute contractual Changes through effective stakeholder management. Administer a range of contracts through the full project lifecycle, including Contractual change, payment and delivery milestones and Programme management
• Lead Procurement aspects of the Tendering Process ensuring validity and robustness of Procurement aspects, communicating clearly risk and opportunities, this is extended to change management within existing contracts.
• Support specific contractual requirements and complex issues and ensure that procurement offering can meet any customer governance expectations.
• Liaise with the internal Commercial team and Leonardo Intra-companies to ensure the Procurement Strategy dovetails appropriately to support any Customer or End User requirements.
• Mobilise supplier Business Agreements, Service Level Agreements and Professional Services Agreements and Contract Change Notes with strategic suppliers.
• Support contractual change management through effective negotiation and drafting
• Oversee strategic supplier competitions and establish multiple-source options and supply chain resilience where risk requires.
• Develop effective relationships both horizontally and vertically with the Suppliers, Partners and Subcontractors to influence successful outcomes.
• Develop alternative sources of supply. Coordinate and support assessments of new suppliers and assess the suitability of contracting through appropriate competitions.
• Translate customer / project requirements into Procurement documents where required contractually or to support Life Cycle Management (LCM) governance.
• Work with stakeholders, at all levels, in order to understand customer requirements and critical success factors
• Understanding mechanisms of mitigating risk associated with entering into commercial agreements. Also, consider risk / resilience within the EW IMS supply base.
• Develop and negotiate robust contracts for services, intangible and tangible deliverables using standard and non-standard formats.
• Ensure that the appropriate commercial protections are in place such as; effective Partnering Agreements, Supply Agreements, Software Licence Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) / Export Licences etc. and Manufacturing Licencing Agreements.
• Drives and leads strategies to influence business decisions throughout the project life cycle
• Identify solutions for complex areas of potential risk /opportunity e.g. sub-contract risk, IPR, liability and exchange rate exposure etc.
• Lead the generation and review of appropriate specifications and Statement of Work documents
• Promotes a culture of best practice and sharing of knowledge within the function and across the wider business
• Management of Compliance and Governance, restrictions for all procured items and services
