Role Title: Procurement Manager
Reports to: Head of Commercial Finance
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid, 4 Days On-Site)
Salary: £45,000 - £65,000

Role Overview

As a key member of the Commercial Finance leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing the Scotsman Group's procurement strategy. This position leads the Commercial Admin team and is responsible for delivering high-impact, complex supply scoping strategies across the Group. You'll focus initially on goods not for resale-such as energy, consumables, and service supplies-ensuring these areas drive value, support sustainable growth, and enable operational excellence.

You will take ownership of end-to-end procurement initiatives: from identifying cost-saving opportunities and conducting strategic tendering, to contract implementation, supplier management, and KPI tracking. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on making a tangible impact in a fast-paced, multi-sector environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead, support, and develop the Commercial Admin team, building a centre of excellence for procurement and supply chain support across the Group.
  2. Act as a strategic procurement partner to operational teams, providing guidance, tools, and data-driven insight to improve decision-making.
  3. Scope and deliver complex procurement projects, especially across GNFR categories such as energy, consumables, and services.
  4. Establish and manage a comprehensive tendering calendar and ensure all supplier renewals are proactively addressed.
  5. Design and implement tender processes that deliver optimal value, quality, and service outcomes.
  6. Take ownership of supplier negotiations, ensuring the best total value-not just lowest price-while upholding service standards and long-term viability.
  7. Oversee supplier performance and contract compliance, including tracking spend, setting KPIs, and maintaining governance around supplier relationships.
  8. Implement purchasing and contract management policies, ensuring alignment with commercial and operational priorities.
  9. Lead continuous improvement and business efficiency initiatives within procurement and commercial admin functions.
  10. Act as the key liaison for cross-functional projects that interface with procurement, supporting scalable and sustainable growth.
  11. Maintain a strategic focus on high-value expenditure areas and proactively manage utility tracking, supplier transitions, and change of tenancy actions.
  12. Champion best practices in procurement and contract management across all stakeholder groups.

Skills & Experience Required
  1. Proven success in procurement and contract management, ideally within a complex, multi-site business.
  2. Strong commercial acumen with a focus on long-term value creation and service excellence.
  3. A strategic negotiator with a track record of delivering savings, efficiencies, and improved supplier performance.
  4. Experienced in running end-to-end tender processes, including writing tender documents, evaluating submissions, and onboarding suppliers.
  5. Confident managing complex contracts and business-critical supplier relationships.
  6. Excellent communicator, able to build trust with senior stakeholders and operational teams alike.
  7. Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to develop and inspire team members.
  8. Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-moving, change-driven environment.
  9. Highly organised, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
  10. Demonstrated track record of supporting or leading business change initiatives.

Desirable but Not Essential
  1. Experience in procurement for Goods Not for Resale (GNFR), particularly in the FMCG, hospitality, or group enterprise sectors.
  2. Knowledge and experience of energy procurement and management across a business portfolio.
  3. Familiarity with supply chain operations and supplier performance management systems.
