Ontic, an aerospace industry leading provider of ‘Extended Life Solutions’ for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) legacy and non-core products, has an opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join our team based at our office in Staverton, Gloucestershire to support our continued success and ambitious growth plans.
As a procurement manager, you will supervise the day-to-day operations of the procurement team to achieve key results in support of the business and the company’s external supply chain. You’ll be responsible for the overall strategy, performance, and risk management for your segment of the supply chain, ensuring alignment with the company’s key results.
This is a key position in Ontic, enabling forward planning of spend, establishing strong relationships with suppliers, and supporting continuous improvement of business processes.
You will develop and drive strategy, partnering with legal and contract teams to negotiate contracts that support business KPIs and mitigate supply risks. Additionally, you’ll develop the supplier base through performance monitoring, improvement plans, and risk mitigation strategies. You’ll identify, rationalize, and create strategies for the supply chain based on supplier competency and value for respective commodities/sub-commodities.
Experience in commodity management, procurement management, or senior technical buying roles. Aerospace experience is preferred, but applications from manufacturing, service, or maintenance sectors are welcome.
You should be commercially minded, capable of delivering innovative solutions to commercial challenges. Excellent communication skills, decision-making confidence, negotiation, and organizational skills are essential. Strong IT skills, with knowledge of ERP systems like Visual and/or Syteline, are preferred but not essential.
This role requires travel to suppliers both nationally and internationally.
