Job description

A prestigious and highly regarded law firm is seeking a Procurement Disputes Associate to join their expanding team in Birmingham.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented legal professional to work within a leading Public Procurement team, advising on high-profile disputes across sectors including health and social care, housing, local government, and charities. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Advising clients on procurement disputes, including litigation under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.
  2. Managing dispute resolution processes, including court proceedings and settlement negotiations.
  3. Providing strategic advice on procurement challenges and risk mitigation.
  4. Collaborating with the wider Projects Department to deliver comprehensive legal services.
  5. Supporting clients with training and advisory work, particularly in relation to new procurement regulations.
  6. Assisting in supervising and mentoring junior lawyers within the team.
  7. Contributing to the firm’s growth through business development and thought leadership initiatives.
About You:
  1. Qualified Solicitor with solid experience in disputes. Procurement experience is desirable but not essential.
  2. Strong understanding of procurement regulations and dispute resolution processes.
  3. Experience advising clients in key sectors such as health, housing, and local government.
  4. Ability to manage litigation matters independently while collaborating with a team.
  5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal professionals.
  6. Interest in mentoring and supervising junior team members.
  7. A proactive approach to business development and client relationship management.
