Job summary

BCL Legal Limited is recruiting a Solicitor to join its Procurement Litigation team in Leeds on a flexible hybrid basis.

You will advise on procurement disputes from strategy through High Court litigation for a diverse client base including government bodies and major corporates.

The role offers first-class training, supportive colleagues and clear progression within a leading national practice with exposure to a broad range of related disputes.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with up to 3 years' PQE (NQ-3).
• Experience in commercial dispute resolution.
• Interest or knowledge in public procurement law.
• Familiarity with public law litigation is advantageous.
• Strong drafting, legal research and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commercially aware with a pragmatic approach.
• Ability to manage matters and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Advise on procurement matters from strategic risk management through High Court litigation.
• Act for claimants and defendants in procurement challenges and disputes.
• Work with clients across IT, infrastructure, construction, transport and energy.
• Support central government departments, local authorities, NHS organisations and major commercial clients.
• Collaborate on wider commercial disputes alongside procurement matters.
• Exposure to judicial review, IT disputes, injunctive relief, IP, corporate litigation and professional negligence.

The Role:

• Solicitor role within a nationally recognised Procurement Litigation team

The Candidate:

• Qualified solicitor with up to 3 years' PQE (NQ-3)
• Experience in commercial dispute resolution
• Some knowledge of public procurement law or a genuine interest in developing expertise in this area
• Familiarity with public law litigation would be advantageous
• Strong drafting, legal research and analytical skills
• Commercially aware with a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Comfortable working directly with clients and managing matters effectively
• Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to meet competing deadlines
• Collaborative team player with a proactive and professional approach
