Job description

Job Title: Procurement Leader - Strategy

Location: Barrow-in-Furness (2 days on-site a week). We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the development of category and supplier strategies to support current and future programmes
  • Identifying opportunities for alignment and integration with other business functions and the wider BAE Systems Group
  • Analyse category insights to support strategy development
  • Responsibility for leading/influencing cross-functional teams to promote collaborative work across the business
  • Acting as champion for procurement, with a particular focus on embedding category management of direct spend across the UK businesses
  • Developing support material for category management to standardise processes, document lessons learned and good practice, and deliver improved operational efficiency

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • You will be confident, collaborative and autonomous whilst being able to capture and communicate opportunities across our Supply Chain
  • Commercial awareness with a background in Procurement, Project Management, Commercial or Engineering
  • Strong collaborative skills, communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to analyse data & produce viable strategic sourcing strategies

Desirable

  • Previous experience in Category Management or strategic procurement
  • MCIPS

The Procurement Strategy team:

The Procurement Strategy team is a key part of the Supply Chain function, playing an important role in supporting all Submarines programmes at our Barrow site. The team is responsible for category management and supplier strategies, working in collaboration with programme teams and the Submarines Enterprise to deliver strategic sourcing solutions that drive value, innovation, and increase performance. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
