Job summary

SG Partnership is seeking a commercially minded Procurement Officer to own purchasing activities, improve stock planning and supplier performance as the business scales. You will help establish structured processes, manage UK and international suppliers and contribute to a growing, product-led operation.

The role offers opportunities to implement an MRP system, enhance procurement visibility and support cashflow forecasting across the business, in a fast-paced environment that values initiative

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain within manufacturing/engineering environments.
• Strong stock planning and supplier lead-time understanding.
• Ability to analyse purchasing, stock and supplier information to improve cash flow and costs.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day procurement activities, ensuring timely purchasing at right cost and quality.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and supply agreements with suppliers to optimise value.
• Develop proactive purchasing and stock planning processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Monitor stock levels, lead times and future requirements to ensure availability and minimise excess inventory.
• Improve visibility of purchasing commitments and supplier lead times to support cashflow forecasting.
• Manage relationships with UK and international suppliers and ensure reliable delivery.
• Evaluate suppliers and identify sourcing options to improve quality and cost competitiveness.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including long lead times and disruption.
• Support the implementation and development of an MRP system for better planning and visibility.
• Collaborate with operational, finance and commercial teams to align procurement with demand and growth.
