Job summary

Our client, a growing civil engineering and fencing contractor in Scotland, is hiring a full-time Buyer to own the procurement function. This office-based role in Clydebank offers the chance to shape purchasing processes from the ground up and become a central member of a lively, close-knit team.

You will manage the entire purchasing function, source materials, negotiate with suppliers, and coordinate with site teams to meet project deadlines. Salary up to £45,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as a Buyer in civil engineering/utilities/fencing.
• Experience with digital purchasing systems.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement for materials, plant hire, and fencing supplies.
• Transition PO system from Excel to QuickFiles.
• Negotiate best rates with suppliers and merchants.
• Ensure timely material delivery with site teams and management.
• Manage subcontractor procurement for major projects.
