Job summary

The client is seeking a Main Buyer to take full ownership of procurement for a growing civil engineering and fencing contractor in Clydebank. This is a full-time, office-based role where you will shape procurement processes from the ground up and become a key member of a close-knit team.

You will manage the entire purchasing function, sourcing materials, managing supply chains for civils and fencing, and negotiating best rates with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as a Buyer in civil engineering, utilities or fencing sectors.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with digital purchasing/accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead all procurement for materials, plant hire, and fencing supplies.
• Transition PO system from Excel to QuickFiles and streamline processes.
• Negotiate best rates and maintain relationships with suppliers and merchants.
• Collaborate with site teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Manage sub-contractor procurement for major projects.
