We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Procurement Lead to run and manage Hayfin’s vendor management programme. The role consists of overseeing the full lifecycle of vendor relationships and procurement processes assisting business relationship managers in sourcing suppliers, managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective procurement of services while maintaining quality and compliance with company policies and procedures.

This is a newly created position, at a time of pivotal growth for Hayfin post-successful completion of a Management Buy Out. You will be working closely with the Group Finance Director and Enterprise Risk Director to both set and then deliver on your strategy.

A background in asset management is preferable.

JOB OVERVIEW
  • Own and manage Hayfin’s vendor management program, from selection and onboarding to ongoing performance management and contract renewal or termination.
  • Develop and deliver procurement strategies, implementing plans and contracts.

Strategic Sourcing

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct market research & monitor market trends, and develop sourcing strategies to optimise cost, quality, and service.
  • Manage and develop supplier network and bid processes ensuring continual review all vendors are consistent and within legal terms.

Contract Negotiation

  • Assist business relationship managers with contract negotiations, ensuring favourable terms that align with company objectives and mitigate risk.

Procurement Operations

  • Oversee purchase order management, approval workflows including invoice settlement, and timely procurement of services.
  • Maintenance of the vendors list along with contracts register

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with internal departments (Finance, Legal, Operations, IT, etc.) and internal committees to provide both high-level and detailed advice, reports and analysis to align procurement strategies with business goals.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvements without compromising on quality or service by leveraging supplier relationships and alternative sourcing options.
  • Ensure procurement processes comply with legal, regulatory, and company policies, mitigating supplier-related risks.

Performance Monitoring

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) with business relationship managers to track supplier performance, resolve issues, and continuously improve vendor relationships.

Technology & Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement best practices to enhance procurement efficiency and transparency.

Reporting

  • Reporting to internal risk committees on overall performance of the vendor management program.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in establishing and running complex and high value procurement campaigns
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management; at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven ability to deliver organisational change and improvement in large, complex environments
  • Understanding of contract management strategy
  • Understanding of risk management frameworks for procurement activity
  • Significant experience in programme management and structuring the delivery of complex work, incorporating multiple inputs and stakeholders, management of fluctuating workload and associated resource management
  • Exceptional leadership and decision making, established stakeholder management (Senior/ Board Level)
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of procurement compliance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to drive innovation and implement best-in-class procurement practices
