The Role

The Procurement Lead will be responsible for procurement management, cost provision of goods and services required for a safe operation at the mine and processing plants whilst providing exceptional customer service and support.

Key Responsibilities

As the Procurement Lead, you will be involved in:

  • Undertaking Contract Review meetings with all associated stakeholders and reporting performance.
  • Establishing Purchasing Strategies for new projects in line with QMAG’s Purchasing Policy.
  • Identifying and creating cost-saving opportunities through sound Procurement Guidelines.
  • Leading the issuance of tenders/RFIs/RFQs and evaluating submissions.
  • Negotiating with vendors and understanding the market to ensure the best possible prices are obtained for materials and services.
  • Monitoring the performance of suppliers relating to pricing, completeness, and timeliness of delivery and resolving related difficulties.
  • Identifying and creating opportunities for cost reduction and value-adding by introducing a common approach to preferred supplier arrangements for both goods and services.
  • Managing the Stores (Spare Parts & Consumables) functions at both Parkhurst and Kunwarara.
  • Managing and leading the Stocktake process across both sites (Spare parts and consumables).

We are looking for people with the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading tender processes.
  • Strong understanding of Procurement Management processes.
  • Understanding of stock control and management skills.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Commerce, or Contract and Procurement Management (Desirable).
