Your new role

We are recruiting for a Senior Procurement Governance and Policy Specialist.

In this role, you will help to deliver improvements in procurement and purchasing practices, driving compliance and providing optimum value for money across the council.

This is a key role for the Council as you will identify, deliver, and embed relevant legislative, policy, and procedural changes across the council whilst also supporting the procurement governance process, ensuring it functions efficiently and effectively.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current and prospective public procurement legislation & relevant policy.
  • Up-to-date understanding of best practice related to public procurement and contract management.
  • Good knowledge of public sector procurement governance and assurance processes.
  • Working knowledge of change management & project management.
  • CIPS Level 4 or equivalent experience is desirable with a willingness to work towards MCIPS.
