Job summary

Proactive Global in London is seeking a Purchasing Engineer / Buyer to source materials and manage procurement for precision engineering projects. You will work with suppliers and internal teams to interpret drawings, negotiate terms, and ensure cost-effective sourcing.

Qualifications

Experience in purchasing, buying or procurement within manufacturing or engineering.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Strong communication and negotiation skills with supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

Source and procure materials, components and products for engineering and manufacturing projects.
Manage purchasing activities to meet operational requirements.
Read and interpret engineering drawings to identify components and manufacturing needs.
Negotiate pricing, lead times and terms with suppliers.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support operations.
Coordinate purchasing with Procurement Manager, workshop and other departments.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve purchasing issues.
Identify procurement process improvements and efficiency gains.
