Job Title: Cost Value Engineer / Procurment Engineer

Location: Oxford (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract, Hybrid After Initial Onsite Period)

Pay Rate: £26 - £40 per hour (DOE) (37 hours per week, Monday to Friday)

Role Overview

You'll provide technical cost analysis and value engineering support across procurement, suppliers, and R&D. Key responsibilities include leading cost optimisation projects, supporting design phases with cost estimation, and advising on manufacturing cost drivers. The role involves approximately 20% travel and requires full onsite presence for the first weeks, moving to hybrid working thereafter.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical cost analysis and value engineering support across procurement, suppliers, and R&D.
  • Lead cost optimisation projects.
  • Support design phases with cost estimation.
  • Advise on manufacturing cost drivers.
  • Travel approximately 20% of the time; on-site presence required for the initial weeks, then hybrid work.
Key Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (HNC or BEng).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing techniques and associated cost drivers.
  • Experience in engineering or procurement, with supplier engagement background.
  • Skilled in cost analysis, value engineering, and target costing.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electro-mechanical components and assemblies.
